The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 2(2) of the City of Edinburgh (Guided Busways) Order(1) hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order maybe cited as the City of Edinburgh (Guided Busways) Order (Section 5l) Order 1999.
2. For the purposes of section 2(2) of the City of Edinburgh (Guided Busways) Order, 14th April 1999 is hereby specified as the day on which section 51 (Disapplication) of that Order comes into force.

This Order specifies 14th April 1999 as the date of coming into force of section 51 of the City of Edinburgh (Guided Busways) Order, which was confirmed by the City of Edinburgh (Guided Busways) Order Confirmation Act 1998 (c.III).
Section 51 disapplies certain sections of the Transport Act 1985 (c. 67) dealing with competition in the provision of public passenger transport services and the procedure for entering into agreements as subsidies for such services.
