In exercise of the power conferred upon him by section 5(4) of the Sex Offenders Act 1997(1) the Secretary of State hereby makes the following Order:
1.-(1) This Order may be cited as the Sex Offenders (Certificate of Caution) Order 1997 and shall come into force on 1st September 1997.
(2) This Order extends to England and Wales and Northern Ireland only.
2. The certificate referred to in section 5(4) of the Sex Offenders Act 1997 (Certificate of Caution) shall be in the form set out in the Schedule to this Order or a form to like effect.

This Order prescribes the form to be used by a constable to certify that a person has been cautioned for an offence to which Part I of the Sex Offenders Act 1997 applies and that the person has been so informed.
