(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order amends the Order which established the Glan Hafren National Health Service Trust to alter the purpose for which the trust has been established and to amend its functions. (The trust has assumed responsibility for the management of the Royal Gwent Hospital, previously managed by the Gwent District Health Authority and associated hospitals some of which were previously managed by Mid Glamorgan District Health Authority.)
This Order confers on the trust the purpose specified in section 5(1)(b) of the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990, to provide and manage hospitals or other establishments or facilities. The functions of the trust are also amended so that they are no longer confined to the ownership and management of establishments or facilities previously managed or provided by health authorities, but are now to include the provision and management of accommodation and services at other premises.
1977 c. 49; section 126(3) was amended by section 65(2) of the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990 (c. 19).
