The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on her by sections 128(2) and 149(2) of the Broadcasting Act 1996(1), hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Broadcasting Act 1996 (Commencement No. 2) Order 1997.
2. In this Order, "the 1996 Act" means the Broadcasting Act 1996.
3. The transfer date appointed for the purposes of section 128(2) of the 1996 Act shall be 1st April 1997.
4. The following provisions of the 1996 Act shall come into force on 1st April 1997:-
Section 73, so far as it is not yet in force
Section 85
Section 95
Sections 106 to 130
Section 147, so far as it is not yet in force
Section 148, so far as it is not yet in force
Schedule 2, so far as it is not yet in force
Schedule 3
Schedule 4
Schedule 10, so far as it is not yet in force
Schedule 11, so far as it is not yet in force.

This Order brings into force as from 1st April 1997 those provisions of the Broadcasting Act 1996 relating to restricted services, the Gaelic Broadcasting Fund and the establishment of the Broadcasting Standards Commission.
