This note is not part of the Order)
This Order amends the Order which established the South Devon Health Care National Health Service Trust to alter the purpose for which the trust has been established and to amend its functions. (The trust has, in exercise of its existing functions, assumed responsibility for the management of hospital accommodation and services provided from Torbay District General Hospital, and community health services formerly provided from St Michael's House, Newton Abbot Hospital but now provided from Torbay District General Hospital, previously managed by the former Torbay Health Authority and for the ownership of the associated premises.)
This Order confers on the trust the purpose specified in section 5(1)(b) of the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990-to provide and manage hospitals or other establishments or facilities-and amends the trust's functions so that it is no longer required to own the premises at which it is to provide hospital services, and to alter the premises from which it is to provide community health services.
1977 c. 49; section 126(3) was amended by section 65(2) of the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990 (c. 19).
