1. This Scheme may be cited as the M4 Motorway (Maidenhead Windsor and Eton Flood Alleviation Scheme) (Temporary Diversion) Scheme 1996 and shall come into force on 30th October 1996.
2. The Secretary of State is authorised to provide a special road, for the exclusive use of traffic of classes I and II of the classes of traffic set out in Schedule 4 to the Highways Act 1980, along the route of a temporary highway from a point about 220 metres east of the centre line of Marsh Lane overbridge to a point about 490 metres east of the centre line of Marsh Lane overbridge, all at Dorney Reach, Buckinghamshire, a distance of about 270 metres.
3. The centre line of the special road is indicated by a heavy black line on the plan numbered MOD/0/M4/10/65/1/3/1, marked "The M4 Motorway (Maidenhead Windsor and Eton Flood Alleviation Scheme) (Temporary Diversion) Scheme 1996", signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport and deposited at the Department of Transport, Great Minster House, 76 Marsham Street, London SW1P 4DR.
4. The new special road shall become a trunk road on the date when this Scheme comes into force.
