1. This Order may be cited as the A1 Trunk Road (Wetherby to Walshford) (Detrunking) Order 1994 and shall come into force on 21st October 1994.
2. In this Order-
(i)"classified road" as a classification for a highway, means that the highway is not a principal road for the purposes of enactments or instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads but is a classified road for the purpose of every enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State and which does not specifically refer to their classification as principal roads.
(ii)"the Motorway" means the new highway which the Secretary of State proposes to construct referred to in article 2(2)(ii) of the A1 Motorway (Kirk Deighton New Junction to Walshford Section and Connecting Roads) Scheme 1994.
(iii)"the new trunk roads" means the new highways which the Secretary of State proposes to construct referred to in article 3 of the A1 Trunk Road (Wetherby to Kirk Deighton New Junction and Connecting Roads) Order 1994.
(iv)"the trunk road" means the A1 Trunk Road.
(v)"the deposited plan" means the plan numbered HA10/YHCPD 61 marked "The A1 Trunk Road (Wetherby to Walshford) (Detrunking) Order 1994" signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport and deposited at the Department of Transport, Romney House, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1P 3PY.
3. The length of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a classified road from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the Leeds City and North Yorkshire County Councils that the Motorway and new trunk roads are open for traffic.

The length of the A1 Trunk Road ceasing to be a trunk road is from a point (marked "A" on the deposited plan) 478 metres north of its junction with Carr Lane northwards to a point (marked `B' on the deposited plan) 380 metres south-west of the Moor Lane overbridge and is shown by broad black dashes on the deposited plan.
