Whereas
(1) the Secretary of State nominated British Telecommunications plc as the successor company to British Telecommunications by the Telecommunications Act 1984 (Nominated Company) Order 1984(1).
(2) the Secretary of State after having consulted British Telecommunications and British Telecommunications plc is satisfied that nothing further remains to be done by British Telecommunications and British Telecommunications plc under Schedule 5 of the Telecommuncations Act 1984(2) ("the Act").
Now, therefore, the Secretary of State, in exercise of the power conferred on him by section 69(2) of the Act, hereby makes the following Order:-
1. This Order may be cited as the British Telecommunications (Dissolution) Order 1994 and shall come into force on 6th September 1994.
2. British Telecommunications is hereby dissolved.

British Telecommunications was established by the British Telecommunications Act 1981 (1981 c. 38) ("the 1981 Act") to exercise such powers and duties as were set out in the 1981 Act.
The Secretary of State by Order under section 60(1) of the Telecommunications Act 1984 (1984 c. 12) transferred all the property rights and liabilities to which British Telecommunications was entitled or subject to a successor company to be nominated.
By the Telecomunications Act 1984 (Nominated Company) Order 1984 (S.I. 1984/886), British Telecommunications plc was so nominated.
This Order dissolves British Telecommunications.
