1.-(1) The length of trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order and shown by broad striped hatching on the deposited plan shall cease to be a trunk road as from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the County Council of North Yorkshire that the new trunk road is open for through traffic.
2. In this Order-
(1) all measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway;
(2) (i) "the deposited plan", means the plan numbered HA10/YHRO 42 marked "The A65 Trunk Road (Bigholmes Lane to Switchers) (Detrunking) Order 1993"signed by authority of the Secretary of State and deposited at the Department of Transport, Romney House, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1P 3PY;
(ii)"the new trunk road" means the highways to be constructed by the Secretary of State in pursuance of the A65 Trunk Road (Hellifield and Long Preston Bypass and Slip Roads) Order 1993;(3) and
(iii)"the trunk road" means North-West of Doncaster to Kendal Trunk Road (A65).
3. This Order shall come into force on 5th April 1993 and may be cited as the A65 Trunk Road (Bigholmes Lane to Switchers) (Detrunking) Order 1993.

The length of the trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road is about 5.85 kilometres in length, and extends from a point 60 metres east of the junction of the trunk road with Bigholmes Lane (marked "C"on the deposited plan), to a point 360 metres west of its junction with the accessway to the property known as Switchers (marked "D"on the deposited plan) all in the District of Craven in the County of North Yorkshire.
