(b)An exercise in fireground procedure and control; and

(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations, which come into force on 1st January 1994, amend the Fire Services (Appointments and Promotion) (Scotland) Regulations 1978 (as previously amended in particular by S.I. 1985/1176, 1991/343, 1992/409 and 1992/2971). The effect of the amendments is to introduce for Scotland revised practical examinations (set out in the Schedules to these Regulations) for promotion in a fire brigade to the ranks of leading firefighter and sub-officer respectively save that, in the latter case, the reference to an exercise in fireground procedure and control (set out in paragraph (b) in Schedule 2) remains unaltered. The Regulations also make a consequential provision with regard to provisions (governing eligibility to enter a practical examination) which operate by reference to non-attendance at the examination in question in the previous year.
1947 c. 41; section 18(1) was amended by the Fire Services Act 1959 (c. 44), section 6 and Schedule.
