1. This Order may be cited as the A43 Trunk Road (Stamford Road, Northamptonshire) (Detrunking) Order 1993 and shall come into force on 17th December 1993.
2. In this Order:
(i)"the classified road" as a classification for a highway, means that the highway is not a principal road for the purposes of enactments or instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads but is a classified road for the purpose of every enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State and which does not specifically refer to their classification as principal roads;
(ii)"the trunk road" means the A43 Trunk Road.
3. The length of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a classified road from the date when this Order comes into force.

The length of the trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road is that length of Stamford Road situated between its junction with the unnumbered principal road (south-west of Weldon) and the A427 (north-east of Weldon), in the District of Corby in the County of Northamptonshire, a distance of 2.45 kilometres, and is shown by broad black dashes on the plan numbered HA 10/EM 108, marked "The A43 Trunk Road (Stamford Road, Northamptonshire) (Detrunking) Order 1993", signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport and deposited at the Department of Transport, Romney House, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1P 3PY.
