The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 56(1) and (2) of the Finance Act 1973(1) with the consent of the Treasury, and of powers conferred by the Department of Transport (Fees) Order 1988(2), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Motor Vehicles (Type Approval and Approval Marks) (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 1993 and shall come into force on 20th December, 1993.
2. The Motor Vehicles (Type Approval and Approval Marks) (Fees) Regulations 1993(3) shall be amended in accordance with the following provisions of these Regulations.
3. In Schedule 4 (fees for the issue of documents in respect of vehicle parts) in column 3, opposite the entry "80004" in column 2, for "30" there shall be substituted "64".

These Regulations amend the Motor Vehicles (Type Approval and Approval Marks) (Fees) Regulations 1993 ("the principal Regulations") in order to correct a drafting error.
The principal Regulations re-enacted with modifications the provisions of the Motor Vehicles (Type Approval and Approval Marks) (Fees) Regulations 1992.
Regulation 10(1) of and Schedule 4 to the principal Regulations prescribed No.80004 in the sum of £30 for the "issuing of an amended type approval certificate together with amended pages and index sheet of information package in accordance with the second indent of article 5(3) of the Framework Directive, in relation to a previously issued type approval certificate, where an extension to the original approval is deemed necessary".The intention was for this fee to be #64.These Regulations give effect to that intention.
