1. The Birmingham City Council (Grand Union Canal Bridge) Scheme 1992 is hereby confirmed with modifications.
2. The said Scheme as confirmed (hereinafter referred to as "the Scheme") is set out in the Schedule hereto and copies of the Scheme with its accompanying plans are deposited at the offices of the Department of Transport, Romney House, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1P 3PY, and at the offices of the Birmingham City Council, Ingleby House, 11-14 Cannon Street, Birmingham.
3. The Scheme will become operative on the date on which notice that is has been confirmed is first published in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 2 to the Highways Act 1980.
4. This Instrument may be cited as the Birmingham City Council (Grand Union Canal Bridge) Scheme 1992 Confirmation Instrument 1993.

Birmingham City Council (hereinafter called "the Council") make this Scheme in exercise of their powers under section 106(3) of the Highways Act 1980 and of all other enabling powers:-“
1. The Council are authorised to construct over the navigable waters of the Grand Union Canal the bridge specified in the Schedule to this Scheme as part of a highway which they are proposing to construct (to be known as the Cuckoo Road B4137) between Cuckoo Road/Mount Street junction and the A47 Heartlands Spine Road in Nechells in the City of Birmingham.
2. This Scheme may be cited as the Birmingham City Council (Grand Union Canal Bridge) Scheme 1992.
GIVEN under the Common Seal of Birmingham City Council the second day of November One thousand nine hundred and ninety two.
From a point 145 metres southeast of the junction of Wharton Street with Mount Street on the west bank of the Grand Union Canal.
To a point on the east bank of the Grand Union Canal 166 metres southeast of the junction of Wharton Street with Mount Street.
SPAN:
A single span of 23.00 metres (show distance between abutments).
WIDTH:
29.5 metres (total width measured square); consisting of 14.75 metres wide southeasterly bound highway 3 metres wide light well and 11.75 metres wide northwesterly bound highway.
HEADWAY:
2.6 metres minimum (weir to soffit).
CONSTRUCTION:
Pre-“stressed concrete beam and composite deck, reinforced concrete abutments to be faced in brick.
WATERWAY:
Grand Union Canal (a minimum clear navigable waterway of 13.5 metres wide).
