In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 8(5), (6), (7) and 35(4) of the Education Act 1980(1), sections 22(1), (2), (3), (4) and 232(5) and (6) of the Education Reform Act 1988(2) and sections 16 and 19(3) of the Education (Schools) Act 1992, and after consulting with those persons with whom consultation appeared to him to be desirable, the Secretary of State for Education hereby makes the following Regulations:
1.-(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Education (School Information) (Amendment) (England) Regulations 1993 and shall come into force on 13th December 1993.
(2) Any reference in these Regulations to the principal Regulations is a reference to the Education (School Information) (England) Regulations 1993 (3).
2. In paragraph 6 of Schedule 2 to the principal Regulations there shall be inserted after the word "school" the words "including details of any special arrangements in the curriculum and otherwise for particular categories of pupils, including those with statements of special educational needs made pursuant to section 7 of the Education Act 1981 (4)".
3. After paragraph 12 of Schedule 2 to the principal Regulations there shall be inserted-
"12A.-(1) The dates of school holidays, including half-term holidays, for the admission school year.
(2) The times at which each school session begins and ends on a school day.".

These Regulations amend the Education (School Information) (England) Regulations 1993 by requiring additional information to be included in the information to be published by governors of schools maintained by local education authorities in England. The additional information required is details of any special curricular and other arrangements made for particular categories of pupils, including those with statements of special educational needs (regulation 2), the dates of school holidays during the next school year and the times at which each school session begins and ends on a school day (regulation 3).
