The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, in relation to England, the Secretary of State for Scotland in relation to Scotland, and the Secretary of State for Wales in relation to Wales in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sections 1 and 8(1) of the Animal Health Act 1981(1) and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Tuberculosis (Deer) (Amendment) Order 1993 and shall come into force on 30th August 1993.
2. For Article 13 of the Tuberculosis (Deer) Order 1989(2) there shall be substituted the following-
"13.-(1) No person shall move any deer on to or off any premises unless it is marked or identified in a manner approved by the appropriate Minister.
(2) No person shall move the carcase of any deer (other than wild deer) on to or off any premises unless it is marked or identified in a manner approved by the appropriate Minister.
(3) No person shall test any deer for tuberculosis unless the deer has been marked or identified in a manner approved by the appropriate Minister.".

This Order amends the Tuberculosis (Deer) Order 1989 (S.I. 1989/878) so as to remove the general requirement for marking or identifying deer on a deer farm. Marking is now required for deer carcases (other than wild deer) and live deer which are to be moved on or off premises, and deer which are to be tested for tuberculosis.
