The Secretary of State for Wales makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by sections 10 and 106 of the Highways Act 1980(1) and of all other enabling powers:-
1. The new highways which the Secretary of State proposes to construct along the routes described in Schedule 1 to this Order which connect the new trunk road with other highways at the places stated in that Schedule (the highways along these routes being in this Order referred to as "the slip roads") shall become trunk roads as from the date when this Order comes into force.
2. The centre lines of the new slip roads are indicated by heavy black lines on the deposited plan.
3. The length of trunk road described in Schedule 2 to this Order and shown by broad striped hatching on the deposited plan shall cease to be a trunk road as from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the County Council of West Glamorgan that the new slip roads are open for through traffic.
4. The Secretary of State is authorised to construct the bridge specified in Schedule 3 to this Order as part of the slip roads.
5. In this Order:-“
All measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway:
(1) "the deposited plan" means the plan numbered HA10/2W097 marked The Neath-“Abergavenny Trunk Road (A465) (Improvement for Aberdulais to Glynneath, Aberdulais Slip Roads) Order 1993 signed by authority of the Secretary of State and deposited at the Welsh Office Repository, Curran Embankment, Cardiff;
(2) "the slip roads" have the meanings given in Article 1 of this Order;
(3) "the trunk road" means the Neath-“Abergavenny Trunk Road (A465).
6. This Order shall come into force on 27th August 1993 and may be cited as the Neath-Abergavenny Trunk Road (A465) (Improvement from Aberdulais to Glynneath, Aberdulais Slip Roads) Order 1993.
Westbound merge slip road from about 150 metres south of the northwest corner of No. 30 Canalside for about 710 metres.
Westbound diverge slip road from about 130 metres northeast of the northwest corner of No. 30 Canalside for about 740 metres.
The length of trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road is the existing westbound merge slip road from Aberdulais Interchange to the existing Trunk Road.
