The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 3(4) and 60 of the Further and Higher Education (Scotland) Act 1992((1)) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, having undertaken such consultation as appeared to him to be appropriate, hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Colleges of Further Education (Changes of Names) (Scotland) Order 1993 and shall come into force on 17th August 1993.
2. The name of each college of further education specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this Order is changed to the name specified opposite that name in column 2 of that Schedule, and a corresponding change is made to the name of the board of management of each college of further education so specified.

This Order changes the names of the 7 specified Colleges of Further Education. Each of the Colleges is under the control of a separate Board of Management in terms of the Further and Higher Education (Scotland) Act 1992 and the Order therefore also changes the name of each Board of Management to reflect the new name of the College.
