The Secretary of State for the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 60 and 62(1)(a) of the Housing Act 1988(1) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, after consultation with the council of the City of Birmingham in accordance with section 61(1) of that Act, hereby makes the following Order, a draft of which has been laid before Parliament and has been approved by resolution of each House of Parliament:
1. This Order may be cited as the Castle Vale Housing Action Trust (Area and Constitution) Order 1993 and shall come into force on the day after the day on which it is made.
2. In this Order, "the map" means the map entitled "Map referred to in the Castle Vale Housing Action Trust (Area and Constitution) Order 1993", of which prints, signed by an Under Secretary in the Department of the Environment, are deposited and available for inspection at the offices of the Secretary of State for the Environment and the offices of the council of the City of Birmingham.
3. The area of land shown on the map bounded externally by a black line and hatched internally is hereby designated as a housing action trust area.
4. For the area designated by article 3 above there is hereby established a housing action trust, named the Castle Vale Housing Action Trust.

This Order designates an area of land totalling approximately 195 hectares in the City of Birmingham as a housing action trust area, and establishes a housing action trust for that area to be called the Castle Vale Housing Action Trust. The location of the designated area is shown on the map forming part of this note.
