The Secretary of State and the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, acting jointly, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 122(4) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990(1) and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Regulations:-
1.-(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Genetically Modified Organisms (Deliberate Release) Regulations 1993 and shall come into force on 1st Febraury 1993.
2. In regulation 18 of the Genertically Modified Organisms (Deliberate Release) Regulations 1992(2)-
(a)in paragraph (2), for the words "paragraph (3)" there shall be substituted the words "paragraphs (30 and (3A)";
(b)after paragraph (3) there shall be inserted the following paragraph-
"(3A) The information prescribed in regulation 17(3)(h) shall be placed on the register within fourteen days of the receipt by the Secretary of State of the committee's advice.".

These Regulations correct a defect in regulation 18 of the Genetically Modified Organisms (Deliberate Release) Regulations 1992 (S. I. 1992/3280). They provide that the advice of the committee appointed under section 124 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 (c. 43) as to applications for consents to release or market genetically modified organisms must be placed on the public register of information kept under section 122 of that Act within fourteen days of it being received by the Secretary of State.
