The Secretary of State for Wales, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 66(2), 67(2), 67A(5), 73(3), 74(1) and 79(2) of the Rent Act 1977(1) as extended by subsections (2) and (3) of section 2 of the Welsh Language Act 1967(2) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:
1.-(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Rent Act 1977 (Forms etc.) (Welsh Forms and Particulars) Regulations 1993 and shall come into force on 13th July 1993.
(2) In these Regulations "the principal Regulations" means the Rent Act 1977 (Forms etc.) Regulations 1980(3).
2. The forms set out in the Schedule to these Regulations are hereby prescribed as versions in Welsh which may be used instead of the corresponding forms in the Schedule to the principal Regulations for the purposes set out in regulations 3 and 4 of the principal Regulations.
3. Forms substantially to the like effect to the forms set out in the Schedule to these Regulations may be used.

These Regulations prescribe Welsh versions of Forms no. 5, 6, 7, 9A, 10, 11, 12 and 13 of the Rent Act 1977 (Forms etc.) Regulations 1980(4) as amended by the Rent Act 1977 (Forms etc.) (Amendment) Regulations 1984(5), 1987(6), 1988(7), and 1993(8) .
Forms 5, 6 and 7 are letters concerning the "Application for Registration of Fair Rent".
Form 9A is a letter concerning the "Application for an Interim Registration of Fair Rent".
Forms 10 and 11 are letters concerning the "Application for Cancellation of Registered Rent".
Forms 12 and 13 are letters concerning the "Notification of Application for Registration of Fair Rent".
The forms are a direct translation of the corresponding English forms with no amendment.
1977 c. 42; section 67(2) was substituted by the Housing Act 1980 (c. 51), section 59(2); section 67A was inserted by paragraph 3 of Schedule 2 to the Local Government and Finance (Housing) (Consequential Amendments) Order 1993 (S.I. 1993/651) and has effect in transitional cases; section 73(3) was substituted by section 62(3) of the Housing Act 1980 (c. 51); section 74(1) was amended by section 41(1) of the Housing Act 1988 (c. 50) and by paragraph 51 of Schedule 11 to the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 (c. 42) and see the definition of "prescribed" in section 75 of the Act; section 79(2) was amended by paragraph 43 of Schedule 25 to the Housing Act 1980. Sections 67, 67A and 74(1) of the 1977 Act are applied by section 13 of the Rent (Agriculture) Act 1976 (c. 80) to statutory tenancies under the 1976 Act. Section 13 was amended by paragraph 75 of Schedule 23 to the Rent Act 1977, Schedule 18 to the Housing Act 1988, and paragraphs 1 and 2 of Schedule 2 to the Local Government Finance (Housing) (Consequential Amendments) Order 1993.
