The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 144 of the Magistrates' Courts Act 1980(1), after consultation with the Rule Committee appointed under the said section 144, hereby makes the following Rules:-
1. These Rules may be cited as the Justices' Clerks (Qualifications of Assistants) (Amendment) Rules 1992 and shall come into force on 14th August 1992.
2. In Schedule 2 to the Justices' Clerks (Qualifications of Assistants) Rules 1979(2) there shall be added the name "Nottingham Polytechnic".

These Rules amend the Justices' Clerks (Qualification of Assistants) Rules by adding Nottingham Polytechnic to the list of bodies which can provide a relevant course leading to qualification as an assistant Justices' Clerk.
