The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 21(5), 23, 34 and 43 of the Legal Aid Act 1988(1), and with the consent of the Treasury, hereby makes the following Regulations:-“
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Legal Aid in Criminal and Care Proceedings (General) (Amendment) Regulations 1991 and shall come into force on 8th April 1991.
2. In these Regulations a regulation or Schedule referred to by number means a regulation or Schedule so numbered in the Legal Aid in Criminal and Care Proceedings (General) Regulations 1989(2).
3.-(1) In regulation 40(2) after "11" there shall be inserted ",11A".
(2) In Schedule 2 Part 2 -“
(a)For Form 11 there shall be substituted the following new form:-“
(a)After Form 11 there shall be added the following new form:-“
4. For the table in Schedule 4 there shall be substituted the following new table:-“

These Regulations amend the Legal Aid in Criminal and Care Proceedings (General) Regulations 1989 by providing for a separate form for the grant of legal aid in the magistrates' court and Crown Court and by amending the scale of weekly contributions payable in criminal and care proceedings.
1988 c. 34; section 34 was amended by the Courts and Legal Services Act 1990 (c. 41), Schedule 18, paragraph 63. Section 43 is an interpretation provision and is cited because of the meaning assigned to the word "regulations".
