The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powersconferred by sections 89(3) and (4)(b), 105(1) and (4) and 108(1)(1)of the Road Traffic Act 1988(2), and of all other enabling powers, and afterconsultation with representative organisations in accordance withsection 195(2) of that Act, and with the approval of the Treasury,hereby makes the following Regulations.
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Motor Vehicles (DrivingLicences) (Large Goods and Passenger-Carrying Vehicles) (Amendment) (No.2) Regulations 1991 and shall come into force on 3rd June 1991.
2.-(1) The Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) (Large Goods andPassenger-Carrying Vehicles) Regulations 1990(3)shall be amended in accordance with the followingprovision of this regulation.
(2) In regulation 15 (Applications for tests) for paragraph (2) thereshall be substituted the following paragraph-
"(2) An applicant for such an appointment shall, when making theapplication, specify the category of vehicle in respect of which hedesires to take the test and pay-
(a)£45 if the application for the test is made before 3rd June1991;
(b)£48 if the application is made on or after that date and thetest is to be conducted on a day other than a Saturday;
(c)£75 if the application is made on or after that dateand thetest is to be conducted on a Saturday."

These Regulations amend regulation 15 of the Motor Vehicles(Driving Licences) (Large Goods and Passenger-Carrying Vehicles)Regulations 1990 so as to-
(a)increase the fee payable for a test to drive a large goods orpassenger-carrying vehicle, and
(b)introduce a premium fee for a driving test taken on a Saturday.
The fee for a test to drive an LGV or PCV which is taken on aweek-day is increased from £45 to £48. The fee for the sametest, if taken on a Saturday, is £75.
