(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order specifies the area in Scotland in respect of which the Secretary of State and the Director General of Electricity Supply have a duty to exercise their functions under Part I of the Electricity Act 1989 in a manner which is best calculated to secure that prices charged to tariff customers by public electricity suppliers for electricity supplied to premises in that area are in accordance with tariffs which do not distinguish (directly or indirectly) between different parts of that area.
The area is the same, with minor adjustments, as the former district of the North of Scotland Hydro-Electric Board.
The map annexed to and forming part of this Note gives a general guide to the area affected by this Order.
Copies of map 1 and of the detailed maps 2-5 referred to in the Schedule may be inspected at the Scottish Office, New St Andrew's House, Edinburgh, EH1 3TA; the Office of Electricity Regulation premises at 48 St Vincent Street, Glasgow, G2 5TS and 24 Marshall Place, Perth, PH2 8AG; and at the registered office of Scottish Hydro-Electric plc, currently at 16 Rothesay Terrace, Edinburgh, EH3 7SE.
