The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the power conferred on him by section 144 of the Magistrates' Courts Act 1980(1), after consultation with the Rule Committee appointed under the said section 144, hereby makes the following Rules:-
1. These Rules may be cited as the Magistrates' Courts (Witnesses' Addresses) Rules 1990 and shall come into force on 2nd April 1990.
2.-(1) In Form 13 in Schedule 2 to the Magistrates' Courts (Forms) Rules 1981(2), the word "Address:" shall be omitted.
(2) In Schedule 2 to Form 16 in the said Schedule the words "and address" shall be omitted in each place where they occur.
3. In rule 70(6) of the Magistrates' Courts Rules 1981(3)the words "and address" shall be omitted

These Rules amend Forms 13 and 16 in Schedule 2 to the Magistrates' Courts (Forms) Rules 1981 by deleting the reference to a witness' address in a written witness statement, and amend rule 70(6) of the Magistrates' Courts Rules 1981 by deleting the reference to the reading aloud of a witness' address at committal proceedings.
