In exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by section 6(2) of the Teachers' Pay and Conditions Act 1987(1), the Secretary of State for Education and Science hereby makes the following Order, a draft of which has been laid before Parliament pursuant to section 6(4) of that Act and approved by resolution of each House of Parliament:
1. This Order may be cited as the Teachers' Pay and Conditions Act 1987 (Continuation) Order 1990.
2. The Teachers' Pay and Conditions Act 1987 shall not expire on 31st March 1991 but shall continue in force for a further year.

Section 6 of the Teachers' Pay and Conditions Act 1987 provides that that Act expires on 31st March 1990 unless continued in force by an order made by the Secretary of State. The Teachers' Pay and Conditions Act 1987 (Continuation) Order 1989(S.I. 1989/2366) continues the Act in force until 31st March 1991. This Order continues the Act in force for a further year.
