1. The new highways which the Secretary of State proposes to construct -
(a)along the routes described in Schedule 1 to this Order (the highways along these routes being in this Order referred to as "the main new trunk road"); and
(b)along the routes described in Schedule 2 to this Order which connect the main new trunk road and the trunk road with the new side road at the places stated in that Schedule (the highways along these routes being in this Order referred to as "the slip roads");
shall become trunk roads as from the date when this Order comes into force.
2. The centre lines of the main new trunk road and the slip roads are indicated by heavy black lines on the deposited plan.
3. As from the date when the main new trunk road has been completed and is open for through traffic:
(a)No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in a direction other than from south to north in that length of highway specified in paragraph 1 of Schedule 3 to this Order, and
(b)No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in a direction other than from north to south in that length of highway specified in paragraph 2 of Schedule 3 to this Order.
4. In this Order:-
(1) all measurements of distances are measured along the route of the relevant highway;
(2) (i) "the deposited plan" means the plan numbered HA10/2 WO 82 marked "East of Abercynon - East of Dowlais Trunk Road (A4060) (Phase 2 - Improvement between Pentrebach and Mountain Hare and Slip Roads) Order 1990" signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Wales and deposited at the Welsh Office Repository, Curran Embankment, Cardiff;
(ii)"the main new trunk road" means the highways mentioned in article 1(a) of this Order;
(iii)"the slip roads" means the highways mentioned in article 1(b) of this Order;
(iv)"the trunk road" means the East of Abercynon-East of Dowlais Trunk Road (A4060);
(v)"the new side road" means the side road proposed to be constructed at Glynmil in accordance with the provisions of the East of Abercynon-East of Dowlais Trunk Road (A4060) (Phase 2 - Improvement between Pentrebach and Mountain Hare and Slip Roads, Side Roads) Order 1990.
5. This Order shall come into force on 8th March 1990 and may be cited as the East of Abercynon - East of Dowlais Trunk Road (A4060) (Phase 2 - Improvement between Pentrebach and Mountain Hare and Slip Roads) Order 1990.

The routes of the main new trunk road are routes between Pentrebach and Mountain Hare in the County of Mid Glamorgan as follows:-
1. A section of new trunk road about 1,140 metres in length, starting at a point 58 metres north of the access to Leo's Superstore at Pentrebach and terminating at a point 260 metres south of the access to the properties known as Cwmblacks Farm and Maesygwastad Bungalow. (This section being given the reference letters A and B on the deposited plan.)
2. A section of new trunk road about 733 metres in length, starting at a point 218 metres north of the access to the property known as Prospect House and terminating at a point 355 metres north of the access to the properties known as San Remo and Trebeddau. (This section being given the reference letters C and D on the deposited plan.)
3. A section of new trunk road about 408 metres in length, starting at a point 80 metres south of the access to the Slaughter House and terminating at a point 60 metres south-east of the junction of the road known as Mount View with the trunk road, north of Mountain Hare. (This section being give the reference letters E and F on the deposited plan.)
The routes of the slip roads are as follows:-
1. A route about 110 metres in length running north-easterly and starting on the eastern boundary of the trunk road north of the Glynmil Gypsy Site and terminating at the western end of the new side road north of the Gypsy Site. (This route being given the reference number 1 on the deposited plan.)
2. A route about 110 metres in length running southerly and starting on the western boundary of the main new trunk road north of Glynmil Gypsy Site terminating at the eastern end of the new side road north of the Gypsy Site. (This route being given the reference number 2 on the deposited plan.)
1. The trunk road from a point about 20 metres north-west of the access to Leo's Superstore at Pentrebach in a northerly direction to the main new trunk road at reference letter C on the deposited plan, the main new trunk road to reference letter D on the deposited plan and the trunk road to a pont about 150 metres south of the proposed new roundabout at Mountain Hare.
2. The main new trunk road from a point about 150 metres south of the proposed new roundabout at Mountain Hare in a southerly direction to reference letter E on the deposited plan, the trunk road to reference letter B on the deposited plan, and the main new trunk road to reference letter A at Penrebach on the deposited plan.
