The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 60 and 82(1) of the Public Passenger Vehicles Act 1981(1), and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with representative organisations in accordance with section 61(2) of that Act, hereby makes the following Regulations:-
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Public Service Vehicles (Operators' Licences) (Amendment) Regulations 1990 and shall come into force on 11th October 1990.
2. In paragraph 2 of the Schedule to the Public Service Vehicles (Operators' Licences) Regulations 1986(2) there shall be inserted at the end the words "or other offences under the law in force in any part of Great Britain which are serious offences as defined in paragraph 1(4) of Schedule 3 or road transport offences as defined in paragraph 1(5) of that Schedule".

These Regulations amend the Schedule to the Public Service Vehicles (Operators' Licences) Regulations 1986 so as to include within the definition of relevant convictions for the purposes of the Public Passenger Vehicles Act 1981, to which the Traffic Commissioners are to have regard in relation to public service vehicle operator licensing, convictions of the serious offences and the road transport offences specified in paragraph 1 of Schedule 3 to that Act (as amended by the Public Service Vehicle Operators (Qualifications) Regulations 1990).
