The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and the Secretary of State, acting jointly, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 5 and 14 of the Corn Returns Act 1882(1) and now vested in them(2), and of all other powers enabling themin that behalf, hereby make the following Regulations:-
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Corn Returns (Variation) Regulations 1990 and shall come into force on 1st August 1990.
2. The Corn Returns Regulations 1976(3) shall be further varied by substituting for Schedule 2 thereto (which sets out the form of returns required by those Regulations) the Schedule to these Regulations.
3. The Corn Returns (Amendment) Regulations 1981(4) are hereby revoked.

These Regulations amend the Corn Returns Regulations 1976 by substituting a new form of return for the previous form set out in theSchedule to the Corn Returns (Amendment) Regulations 1981. The principal change is in the footnotes to clarify the appropriate use of each row of the return.
1882 c. 37; section 5 was substituted by section 108(3)(b) of the Agriculture Act 1970 (c. 40); section 14 was amended by section 18 of,and Schedule 3 to, the Agriculture (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1943 (c. 16)and by section 108(3)(c) of the Agriculture Act 1970.
In the case of the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheriesand Food by virtue of S.R. & O. 1891 (Rev. I, p.614) and the Ministry of Agricultureand Fisheries Act 1919 (c. 91); in the case of the Secretary of State by virtue of S.I. 1978/272.
