1. The lengths of highway described in the Schedule to this Order and shown by broad striped hatching on the deposited plan shall become trunk roads as from the date this Order comes into force.
2. In this Order-“
(1) all measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highways
(2) (i) "the deposited plan" | means the plan numbered HA 10/2WM/135, marked "The Kidderminster-“Halesowen Principal Road (A456) Trunking Order 1989" signed by authority of the Secretary of State and deposited at the Department of Transport, Romney House, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1P 3PY. |
(ii)"the A456" | means the Kidderminster-“Halesowen Principal Road |
(iii)"the A449" | means the Worcester-“South of Stafford Trunk Road. |
3. This Order shall come into force on 24th July 1989 and may be cited as the Kidderminster-“Halesowen Principal Road (A456) Trunking Order 1989.

The lengths of the highways which are to become trunk roads are as follows-“
(1) the A456 in the County of Hereford and Worcester from its junction with the A449 north-eastwards to the boundary of the County of Hereford and Worcester and the Borough of Dudley, a distance of approximately 11.75 kilometres, marked "A" on the deposited plan.
(2) the A456 in the Borough of Dudley from the boundary referred to in (1) above north-eastwards to its junction with the M5 Motorway (Junction 3), a distance of approximately 5.5 kilometres, marked "B" on the deposited plan.
