(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order revokes two Orders made to prevent prejudicial action during investigation by the Monopolies and Mergers Commission of proposed mergers between Pittard Garnar plc and (i) Strong & Fisher (Holdings) plc and (ii) Hillsdown Holdings plc respectively. The two earlier Orders prohibited Strong & Fisher and Hillsdown from taking their holdings of Pittard Garnar shares over 15%, exercising 15% or more of voting rights in Pittard Garnar or making agreements with others to secure control of Pittard Garnar. Strong & Fisher and Hillsdown are now released from those prohibitions. The relevant reports of the Monopolies and Mergers Commission are Cm. 663 and Cm. 665, published by Her Majesty's Stationery Office.
