Her Majesty, in pursuance of section 12(4) of the Interception of Communications Act 1985(1), is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:
1. This Order may be cited as the Interception of Communications Act 1985 (Isle of Man) Order 1989 and shall come into force on 1st April 1989.
2. It is hereby directed that sections 11(3) and (5) and 12(1) of the Interception of Communications Act 1985 shall extend to the Isle of Man with the following exceptions, adaptations and modifications, that is to say, in section 11(3) -“
(a)for "by the Secretary of State under section 2 of the Interception of Communications Act 1985" there shall be substituted "under section 2 of the Interception of Communications Act 1988 (an Act of Tynwald)", and
(b)for "Commissioner under section 8(3)" there shall be substituted "commissioner under section 9(3)".

This Order extends to the Isle of Man sections 11(3) and (5) and 12(1) of the Interception of Communications Act 1985 with the exceptions, adaptations and modifications specified in the Order.
