1.-(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Pensions Increase (Local Authorities' etc. Pensions) (Amendment) Regulations 1989, and shall come into force on 1st April 1989.
(2) In these Regulations "the 1974 Regulations" means the Pensions Increase (Local Authorities' etc. Pensions) Regulations 1974(3).
2. In regulation 4(2) of the 1974 Regulations, for the words "paragraph 7", there shall be substituted the words "paragraph 7 or 8".
3. In regulation 5 of the 1974 Regulations there shall be added the following paragraph-“
"(c)where the pension is a pension specified in paragraph 8 of that Schedule, in which case any such increase shall take effect from 1st April 1989.".
4. In the Schedule to the 1974 Regulations there shall be added the following paragraph-“
"8. A pension payable by Scottish Homes out of a superannuation fund established and administered under the Local Government Superannuation (Scotland) Regulation 1987(4).".

These Regulations amend the Pensions Increase (Local Authorities etc. Pensions) Regulations 1974 so as to provide for the payment of increases under the Pensions Increase Act 1971 on Scottish Homes pensions and so as to secure that the cost of such increases is to be borne by that body. Scottish Homes is a body established under section 1 of the Housing (Scotland) Act 1988 (c. 43).
