The Secretary of State for the Environment, as respects England, and the Secretary of State for Wales, as respects Wales, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 19(1)(a) and (d) of the Commons Registration Act 1965(1), and now vested in them(2), and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following regulations:-“
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Commons Registration (General) (Amendment) Regulations 1989 and shall come into force on 20th December 1989.
2. In these Regulations "the Principal Regulations" means the Commons Registration (General) Regulations 1966(3).
3. In Schedule 1 to the Principal Regulations, for Form 21 and its duplicate, there shall be substituted the form and duplicate set out in the Schedule to these Regulations.
4. In Schedule 3 to the Principal Regulations-“
(i)in the first column, for the words "five pounds". there shall be substituted the words "ten pounds",
(ii)in the second column, for the amounts "£3.00" and "25p" there shall be substituted the amounts "£6.00" and "50p" respectively.
5. The Commons Registration (General) (Amendment) Regulations 1980(4) are hereby revoked.

Regulation 3
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations provide for the increase of fees prescribed in the Commons Registration (General) Regulations 1966 (and previously increased by the Commons Registration (General) (Amendment) Regulations 1980, S.I. 1980/1195) for searches of the Registers of Common Land and Town and Village Greens and for providing certified copies of entries in the Registers.
They also prescribe a new form on which searches of the Registers are to be made, which provides for a compulsory search of both Registers.
