The Secretary of State for Transport, with the consent of the Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 56(1) and (2) of the Finance Act 1973(1), and of all other enabling powers, hereby makes the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Passenger and Goods Vehicles (Recording Equipment) (Approval of Fitters and Workshops) (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 1989 and shall come into force on 1st December 1989.
2. In regulation 3 of the Passenger and Goods Vehicles (Recording Equipment) (Approval of Fitters and Workshops) (Fees) Regulations 1986(2) for "£225" there shall be substituted "£230" and for "£90" there shall be substituted "£93".

These Regulations amend the Passenger and Goods Vehicles (Recording Equipment) (Approval of Fitters and Workshops) (Fees) Regulations 1986 to increase the fees for the approval of fitters or workshops for the installation or repair of recording equipment (Tachographs). The fees were last increased in December 1988.
The fee for the issue of an approval is increased from £225 to £230 and for the renewal of an approval from £90 to £93.
