(2) The person on whom such a notice has been served-
(a)shall comply with the notice; and
(b)shall not move the animal, or cause or permit it to be moved, off the part of the premises on which it is required to be detained, except under the authority of a licence issued by an officer of the appropriate Minister.
4.-(1) Where the appropriate Minister causes a deer to be slaughtered under the powers conferred by section 32 of the Act in its application to tuberculosis the compensation payable by him shall, subject to article 5 below, be the amount determined in accordance with the following provisions of this article.

(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order prescribes the amount of compensation payable for deer slaughtered by the appropriate Minister (i.e. the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food or the Secretary of State for Scotland or Wales) under section 32 of the Animal Health Act 1981 in its application to tuberculosis.
The compensation payable in respect of such a deer is (i) the sum of £600 or (ii) an amount equal to 50 per cent of its market value (calculated in accordance with the provisions of the Order), whichever is the less (article 4). However, compensation payable for the slaughter of deer which are required to serve as controls during the quarantine of imported deer is limited to their carcase value, less the appropriate Minister's reasonable expenses (article 5).
The Order also requires the appropriate Minister, where he intends to cause a deer to be slaughtered under section 32, to serve a notice of intended slaughter on the owner or person in charge of the deer requiring him to detain and isolate the deer pending such slaughter (article 3 and Schedule).
1981 c. 22; section 86(1) contains a definition of "the appropriate Minister" relevant to the exercise of the statutory powers under which this Order is made. The definition of "disease" in section 88(1) of the Act was extended, in relation to England and Wales, by article 3 of S.I. 1984/1943 so as to include tuberculosis and, in relation to Scotland, by a corresponding provision of S.I. 1984/2063.
Section 32 was applied to tuberculosis in relation to England and Wales, by article 3 of S.I. 1984/1943 and, in relation to Scotland, by a corresponding provision in S.I. 1984/2063.
