CHRONICALLY SICK AND DISABLED PERSONS

The Secretary of State for Scotland, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 18(2) of the Disabled Persons (Services, Consultation and Representation) Act 1986(1), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf hereby makes the following Order:
1.-(1) This Order may be cited as the Disabled Persons (Services, Consultation and Representation) Act 1986 (Commencement No.5) (Scotland) Order 1988.
(2) This Order shall apply only to Scotland.
(3) In this Order "the Act" means the Disabled Persons (Services, Consultation and Representation) Act 1986.
Day specified for the coming into force of section 13
2. Section 13 of the Act shall come into force on 1st February 1988.

This Order brings into force in Scotland on 1st February 1988 section 13 of the Disabled Persons (Services, Consultation and Representation) Act 1986. This section makes provision for the identification of disabled children and young persons receiving special education, the assessment of their needs for social work services and notification of the likely date of their leaving special education to the local authority concerned with the provision of services to them.
