These Regulations supersede the Companies (Fees) Regulations 1980 as amended by the Companies (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 1982. They re-enact some of the fees prescribed by those Regulations and increase some of the fees relating to certain matters covered by those Regulations.
1. The fee for inspection of documents kept by the registrar of companies is increased from £1.00 to £2.50. The fee specified for the inspection of documents under section 709(1) includes the fee for the inspection of a register of charges kept by the registrar and a separate fee for such inspection is not specified in the Regulations.
2. The fee for certifying a copy of any document (other than a certificate of incorporation) kept by the registrar of companies is increased from 30p per page (plus, where appropriate, £1.00 for the inspection of any documents by the registrar) to £11.00 per document where the document is not a list of members more than 10 pages long. Where the document is more than 10 pages long and is a list of members, the fee is increased to £11.00 for the first 10 pages plus £1.00 for each additional page. No additional fee is now payable when the registrar has to inspect any documents in order to so certify a copy.
3. The fee for supplying a certificate of incorporation-otherwise than on the incorporation of the company to which it relates-or a certified extract of any document kept by the registrar of companies is increased from £3.50 to £11.00 for the first such certificate or extract supplied on any one occasion and from £2.50 to £8.50 for any subsequent one supplied on the same occasion.
4. In other respects the fees payable to the registrar of companies are unchanged.
