1. The length of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order and shown by broad striped hatching on the deposited plan shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a classified road as from the date on which this Order comes into force.
2. In this Order:-
(i)"classified road" as a classification for a highway, means that the highway is not a principal road for the purposes of enactments or instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads but is a classified road for the purpose of every enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State and which does not specifically refer to their classification as principal roads;
(ii)"the deposited plan" means the plan continued in the plan folio numbered HA10 YHR0 12 marked "The A19 Trunk Road (York Outer Ring Road to Clifton) (Detrunking) Order 1988". Signed by authority of the Secretary of State and deposited at the Department of Transport, Romney House, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1P 3PY;
(iii)"the trunk road" means the A19 Trunk Road.
3. This Order shall come into force on 1st April 1988 and may be cited as the A19 Trunk Road (York Outer Ring Road to Clifton) (Detrunking) Order 1988.

Length of road ceasing to be trunk road.
That length of the trunk road from its junction with the (A1237) York Outer Ring Road trunk road at Rawcliffe (Marked "A" on the deposited plan) for a distance of 2.02 kilometres (measured along that length of road) to the York City boundary at Clifton (marked "B" on the deposited plan).
