1. Those lengths of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order and shown by broad striped hatching on the deposited plan shall cease to be trunk road and shall be classified as a classified road as from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the London Borough of Hackney and the London Borough of Waltham Forest that the new trunk road is open for through traffic.
2. In this Order -
(1) all measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway;
(2) (i) "classified road" as a classification for a highway, means that the highway is not a principal road for the purposes of enactments or instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads but is a classified road for the purpose of every enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State and which does not specifically refer to their classification as principal roads;
(ii)"the deposited plan" means the plan numbered HA 10/2E/254 marked "The London-Great Yarmouth Trunk Road (A106) Detrunking Order 1988", signed by authority of the Secretary of State and deposited at the Department of Transport, Romney House, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1P 3PY;
(iii)"the new trunk road" means the trunk road to be constructed by the Secretary of State in pursuance of the London-Great Yarmouth Trunk Road (A12) (Eastway to Eastern Avenue and Slip Roads at Wanstead) Order 1986(3); and
(iv)"the trunk road" means the London-Great Yarmouth Trunk Road (A106);
3. This Order shall come into force on 3rd November 1988 and may be cited as the London-Great Yarmouth Trunk Road (A106) Detrunking Order 1988.

1. That length of the trunk road, known as Eastway, which extends from a point from a line drawn between the south-west highway boundaries of Homerton and Waterden Roads to the boundary between the London Boroughs of Hackney and Waltham Forest, a distance of approximately 360 metres.
2. That length of the trunk road, known as Ruckholt Road, which extends from the boundary between the London Boroughs of Hackney and Waltham Forest to its junction with High Road Leyton, a distance of approximately 960 metres.
3. That length of the trunk road, known as York Road, which extends from the south-east highway boundary of Ruckholt Road to the south-east highway boundary of Alexandra Road, a distance of 65 metres.
4. That length of the trunk road, known as Alexandra Road from its junction with York Road to its junction with High Road Leyton, a distance of approximately 120 metres.
5. That length of the trunk road, known as Warren Road, from its junction with High Road Leyton to its junction with Francis Road, a distance of approximately 385 metres.
6. That length of the trunk road, known as Francis Road from the north-east boundary of Warren Road to its junction with Grove Green Road, a distance of approximately 70 metres.
7. That length of the trunk road, known as Grove Green Road, from its junction with High Road Leyton to its junction with Church Lane, a distance of approximately 1500 metres.
8. That length of the trunk road, known as Church Lane, which extends from a point in line with the western boundary of Harrington Road to its junction with High Road Leytonstone, a distance of approximately 210 metres.
