In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 35 of the Police Act 1964(1), and after taking into consideration the recommendations made by the Police Negotiating Board for the United Kingdom and furnishing the said Board with a draft of the Regulations in accordance with section 2(1) of the Police Negotiating Board Act 1980(2), I hereby make the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Police Cadets (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 1988.
2. These Regulations shall come into force on 1st December 1988 and shall have effect for the purposes of regulation 3 as from 1st July 1987.
3. The Police Cadets Regulations 1979(3) shall be amended as follows:
(a)in regulation 13(1)(a) for the words "1st September 1986" there shall be substituted the words "1st July 1987";
(b)for the Table in Schedule 2 (scales of pay) there shall be substituted the following Table-

These Regulations amend the Police Cadets Regulations 1979 to increase the pay of cadets attached to the Metropolitan Police force from 1st July 1987 and again from 1st September 1987 (retrospective effect is authorised by section 33(4), as applied by section 35(2), of the Police Act 1964).
