The Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by section 4(3) and (4) of the Trustee Savings Banks Act 1985(1), hereby make the following Order:-
1. This Order may be cited as the Trustee Savings Banks Act 1985 (Appointed Day) (No. 6) Order 1988.
2. 5th July 1988 shall be the appointed day for the purpose of section 220(2) of the Insolvency Act 1986(2) and for the repeal of the following provisions of the Trustee Savings Banks Act 1981(3):-
(a)section 12, and section 13 so far as unrepealed;
(b)sections 23 and 24, and section 25 so far as unrepealed;
(c)sections 51 and 53;
(d)Schedule 3 and 5, and in Schedule 7, paragraph 9(2).
