PILOTAGE
Made
29th June 1988
The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 33(2) of the Pilotage Act 1987(1) ("the Act") hereby makes the following Order:-
1. This Order may be cited as the Pilotage Act 1987 (Commencement No. 3) Order 1988.
2. Section 29 of the Act shall come into force on 1st August 1988.
3. The day appointed for the coming into force of Part I of the Act shall be 1st October 1988.
4. The remaining provisions of the Act, other than those already in force(2) or listed in the Schedule hereto shall come into force on 1st October 1988.

Section 32(5) insofar as it relates to the repeal in Schedule 3 of sections 1(1), 2, 4, 5(4) and 8 of and Schedule 1 to the Pilotage Act 1983(3).

This Order brings into force
(a)on 1 August 1988, section 29 of the Act (which relates to the funding of reorganisation);
(b)on 1 October 1988, Part I and the remaining provisions of the Act other than those already in force and the repeal of the provisions in the Pilotage Act 1983 which relate to the continued existence of the Pilotage Commission pending its abolition (a date for which has not yet been appointed).
The Pilotage Act 1987 (Commencement No. 1) Order 1987 (S.I. 1987/1306) and the Pilotage Act 1987 (Commencement No. 2) Order 1987 (S.I. 1987/2138) brought into force the provisions of the Act not covered by this Order except section 27 (functions and constitution of Pilotage Commission pending abolition) which came into force with the passing of the Act.
