1. The new highways which the Secretary of State proposes to construct along the routes described in Schedule 1 to this Order shall become trunk roads as from the date when this Order comes into force.
2. The centre lines of the new trunk roads are indicated by heavy black lines on the deposited plan.
3. The length of trunk road described in Schedule 2 to this Order and shown by broad striped hatching on the said plan shall cease to be a trunk road as from the date on which the Secretary of State so notifies the County Council of Northamptonshire.
4. In this Order:-
(1) all measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway;
(2) (i) "the deposited plan" | means the plan numbered HA10/EM43 marked "The (A43) Oxford-Market Deeping Trunk Road (Moulton Crossroads to Overstone Grange Improvement) Order 1988" signed by authority of the Secretary of State and deposited at the Department of Transport, Romney House, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1P 3PY; |
(ii) "the new trunk roads" | means the highways mentioned in article 1 of this Order and "a new trunk road" means one of those highways; and |
(iii) "the trunk road" | means (A43) Oxford-Market Deeping Trunk Road. |
5. This Order shall come into force on 14th July 1988 and may be cited as the (A43) Oxford-Market Deeping Trunk Road (Moulton Crossroads to Overstone Grange Improvement) Order 1988.

The routes of the new trunk roads are routes at Moulton and Overstone in the County of Northamptonshire as follows:-
(i)a route including a roundabout, about 870 metres in length, starting at a point 6 metres north east of the junction of the existing A43 Trunk Road with Overstone Lane to a point 210 metres west of the junction of the existing A43 Trunk Road with Footpath DG1; and
(ii)a route about 36 metres in length, starting at a point from the centre of the roundabout, mentioned above, to a point 77 metres north east of the junction of the existing A43 Trunk Road with Overstone Lane.
The length of trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road is that length of the trunk road which is in the County of Northamptonshire between a point 10 metres south-west of the junction with the A43 Trunk Road with Overstone Road, Moulton, to a point 518 metres north-east of the junction of the A43 Trunk Road with Overstone Road, Moulton, a distance of 528 metres.
