The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 18(1)(c) and 24(2) of the Lotteries and Amusements Act 1976((1)) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
1.-(1) This Order may be cited as the Amusements with Prizes (Variation of Monetary Limits) (Scotland) Order 1988 and shall come into force on 18th July 1988.
(2) This Order extends to Scotland only.
2. In section 16(3) of the Lotteries and Amusements Act 1976((2)) (conditions on which the provision of amusements is permitted at certain commercial entertainments) paragraph (b) shall have effect as if, for the sum of £15 specified in that paragraph, there were substituted the sum of £20.
3. In article 2 of the Amusements with Prizes (Variation of Monetary Limits) (Scotland) Order 1984((3))-
(a)for the words "Paragraphs (a), (b) and (c)" there shall be substituted the words "Paragraphs (a) and (c)" ; and
(b)paragraph (b) shall be omitted.

This Order increases the maximum amount permitted to be taken by way of the sale of chances in any one determination of winners in amusements provided at certain fairs and other commercial entertainments in Scotland under section 16 of the Lotteries and Amusements Act 1976.
