The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984(1), and of all other enabling powers, and after consulting the Secretary of State for the Home Department, hereby makes the following Order:-
1. This Order may be cited as the A4 Trunk Road (Bath Road, Hounslow) (Prescribed Routes) Order 1988 and shall come into force on 22nd January 1988.
2. In this Order-
"Bath Road" means that length of the London to Bristol Trunk Road (A4) in the London Borough of Hounslow known as Bath Road:
"central reservation" means that part of Bath Road which separates the two carriageways of Bath Road for the safety and guidance of vehicles using that road; and
"Number 732 Bath Road" means the triangular island site in Bath Road at its junction with Berkeley Avenue.
3. No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed through the gaps in the central reservation which lie opposite-
(1) Firs Drive;
(2) Mornington Crescent/Clevedon Gardens; and
(3) Wayne Avenue, otherwise than from the northwestbound carriageway.
4. No person shall cause any vehicle to enter Berkeley Avenue from Bath Road or enter Bath Road from Berkeley Avenue otherwise than in such a manner as to keep Number 732 Bath Road on the right or off side of the vehicle.
5. Nothing in this Order shall apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform.
