In pursuance of sections 20(3) and (8) and 51(4) of the Gaming Act 1968(1), I hereby make the following Order:
1.-(1) This Order may be cited as the Gaming Act (Variation of Monetary Limits) Order 1987 and shall come into force on 4th May 1987.
(2) This Order shall not extend to Scotland.
2. Section 20(3) of the Gaming Act 1968(2) (which specifies the maximum permitted aggregate amount of winnings in respect of games of bingo played in one week simultaneously on different club premises) shall have effect as if for the reference to the sum of £3,000 there were substituted a reference to the sum of £3,500.
3. Section 20(8) of the Gaming Act 1968(3) (which specifies the maximum amount by which weekly winnings on any particular bingo club premises may exceed the aggregate amount of the stakes hazarded) shall have effect as if for the reference to the sum of £1,250 there were substituted a reference to the sum of £1,500.
4. Article 2 of the Gaming Act (Variation of Monetary Limits) Order 1984(4) and Article 2 of the Gaming Act (Variation of Monetary Limits) Order 1985(5) shall be omitted.

This Order increases in England and Wales the monetary limits specified in section 20(3) and (8) of the Gaming Act 1968 and described in Articles 2 and 3.
1968 c. 65; section 20(3) was amended by section 1 of the Gaming (Amendment) Act 1980 (c. 8).
The sum specified by section 20(3) is as substituted by Article 2 of the Gaming Act (Variation of Monetary Limits) Order 1984 (S.I. 1984/247).
The sum specified in section 20(8) is as substituted by Article 2 of the Gaming Act (Variation of Monetary Limits) Order 1985 (S.I. 1985/575).
