1. The County Council of West Midlands (Black Country Route) (Bridge over Birmingham Canal (Wolverhampton Level)) Scheme 1985 is hereby confirmed with modifications.
2. The said Scheme as confirmed (hereinafter referred to as "the Scheme") is set out in the Schedule hereto. Copies of the Scheme with its accompanying plan are deposited at the offices of the Department of Transport, Romney House, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1 3PY, and at the offices of The Metropolitan Borough Council of Wolverhampton, Civic Centre, Wolverhampton; at the Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council, Civic Centre, Walsall and at the Department of Transport, West Midlands Regional Office, Five Ways Tower, Frederick Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham B15 1SJ.
3. The Scheme will come into force on the date on which notice that it has been confirmed is first published in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 2 to the Highways Act 1980.
4. This Instrument may be cited as the County Council of West Midlands (Black Country Route) (Bridge over Birmingham Canal (Wolverhampton Level)) Scheme 1985 Confirmation Instrument 1987.

The County Council of West Midlands (hereinafter referred to as "the Council") make this Scheme in exercise of their powers under Section 106(3) of the Highways Act 1980 and of all other enabling powers:
1. The Council are authorised to construct over the navigable waters of the Birmingham Canal (Wolverhampton Level) the bridge specified in the Schedule to this Scheme as part of the highway which they are proposing to construct from a point on Birmingham New Road 140 metres north west of its junction with Anchor Lane and Meadow Lane in the district of Wolverhampton to the roundabout at Junction 10 of the M6 Motorway in the district of Walsall all in the County of West Midlands.
2. This Scheme may be cited as The County Council of West Midlands (Black Country Route) (Bridge over Birmingham Canal (Wolverhampton Level)) Scheme 1985.
The bridge will have 4 spans each with distances of 25.75 metres and shown on Drawing B of the said Plan.
Minimum headway will be 9 metres above the normal canal water level.
Minimum square waterway will be 10 metres.
The square width of the bridge will be 24 metres.
