The Secretary of State for Wales makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by section 10 of the Highways Act 1980(1) and of all other enabling powers:
1. The new highways which the Secretary of State proposes to construct along the routes described in Schedule 1 to this Order, shall become trunk roads as from the date when this Order comes into force.
2. The centre lines of the new trunk roads are indicated by heavy black lines on the deposited plan.
3. The lengths of trunk road described in Schedule 2 to this Order, and shown by broad striped hatching on the deposited plan, shall cease to be trunk roads and shall be classified as a classified road and an unclassified road accordingly as from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the County Council of Dyfed that the new trunk roads are open for through traffic.
4. In this Order-
(i)All measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway.
5. This Order shall come into force on 4th December 1987 and may be cited as the London-Fishguard Trunk Road (Nant-Y-Caws-Coed-Hirion By-pass) Order 1987.

The routes of the new trunk roads are routes in the Communities of Llangynnor and Llanddarog in the County of Dyfed, and shown on the deposited plan as follows-
1. a route about 2,820 metres in length starting at a point on the trunk road marked "A" on the deposited plan, about 175 metres east of the junction of the trunk road with C2071 and extending in a south-easterly direction to a point on the trunk road marked "B" on the deposited plan about 40 metres west of the property known as "Awelfan", and
2. a route about 350 metres in length starting at a point on the trunk road marked "C" on the deposited plan, about 240 metres east of Mile End Garage and extending in an easterly direction to a point on the trunk road marked "D" on the deposited plan at the property known as "Gelli-Uchaf".
The length of the Trunk Road ceasing to be a Trunk Road and to be classified as a classified road is that length which is shown between the points marked "A" and "E" on the deposited plan.
The length of the Trunk Road ceasing to be a Trunk Road and to become an unclassified road is that length which is shown between the points marked "E" and "B" on the deposited plan.
