Whereas the West Yorkshire Residuary Body, acting pursuant to section 67(2) of the Local Government Act 1985(1), has submitted further proposals to the Secretary of State for the transfer of certain of its properties to local authorities, and he has decided to give effect to those proposals without modification:-
Now, therefore, the Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 67(3) of that Act, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Local Government Reorganisation (Property) (West Yorkshire) (No. 2) Order 1987 and shall come into force on 8th September 1987.
2. There shall vest in each local authority mentioned in the Schedule hereto -
(a)the relevant land so mentioned; and
(b)all rights and liabilities acquired or incurred exclusively in connection with that land.

The Council of the City of Wakefield | The Registry of Deeds, Margaret Street, Wakefield. The South Kirkby Colliery Phase I Derelict Land Reclamation Site. Such part of the South Kirkby Colliery Phase II Derelict Land Reclamation Site as is not at the date hereof subject to any tenancy. The Victoria Embankment Derelict Land Reclamation Site situated to the south of Methley Road, Castleford. The Lindale Hill Derelict Land Reclamation Site, situated between Lindale Hill Lane and Batley Road, Kirkhamgate. |

The Local Government Reorganisation (Property) (West Yorkshire) Order 1987 (S.I. 1987/15) transferred specified property formerly vested in West Yorkshire County Council and in the West Yorkshire Residuary Body to certain of the district councils in that County. This Order effects further transfers of the same kind.
Article 2 transfers the Wakefield Registry of Deeds to the Council of the City of Wakefield and transfers derelict land reclamation sites to that Council and to the City Councils of Bradford and Leeds.
